Heralded as one of Indonesia’s most innovative bands, Krakatau creates a unique form of jazz from the music traditions of Indonesia, including the micro-tonal system of the ancient gamelan traditions.
Through the band’s talented ensemble of musicians they are constantly exploring and adapting musical ideas from beyond their base in West Java, to draw inspiration from the Indonesian archipelago’s staggeringly diverse musical cultures.
