DWIKI DHARMAWAN (Keyboard & Syntesizer) Classically trained at an early age, he studied jazz in high school before founding Krakatau. Dwiki has worked as a jazz solo artist, producer and arranger for Krakatau and for many other popular artists in Indonesia. His album “Nuansa” released under Sony Music Indonesia which includes famous USA musicians : Mike Stern,Lincoln Goinnes,Richie Morales,Ricky Lawson,Neil Stubenhaus as guest stars.He has written music for Indonesian movies and serial TV programs and is currently active as the conductor and composer of the INDONESIAN ART ORCHESTRA. PRA BUDI DHARMA (Electric Fretless Bass) A graduate in fine Arts from the University of Washington, Pra played guitar and bass professionally in Seattle , USA for many years before returning to Indonesia in 1984 and founded Krakatau. He has studied and experimented with the traditional musics of West Java since 1988. Pra has worked on the A&R staff of Billboard Indonesia and as a producer for an independent record label specializing in recordings of West Javanese traditional music.
ADHE RUDHIANA (Kendang and Percussions) A kendang (Indonesian Barel Drum) virtuoso and musical arranger, Adhe is currently an instructor at STSI, a prestigious art institute and conservatory in Bandung. Adhe has appeared at the Istiqlal Festival and has played countless concerts in Indonesia and neighboring countries. Adhe has also done collaborative works for TV music program.
YOYON DHARSONO (Multi Traditional Instruments) Yoyon has been playing rebab, tarompet pencak, suling, and other Sundanese traditional instruments since childhood and is currently an instructor in Sundanese music performance at STSI, Bandung. His concert experience includes performances with Indonesian cultural delegations in the United Stated, Holland, France, New Zealand, Japan and many other countries.
ZAINAL ARIFIN (Gamelan and Percussions) Arifin is the best graduate from STSI, Institute of Karawitan Music in Bandung, specialized in playing Gamelan (bonangs and sarons) and percussion instruments. He is also a working musician at various local clubs and plays with several different bands as percussionist.
GERRY HERB(Drummer) He works as Professional Drummer, playing on both recording and live concert with many top Indonesia musicians including Dwiki Dharmawan Orchestra, Idang Rasjidi, Bintang Indrianto, ALV Band, Yovie and the Nuno, etc. He also spend his time as drum instructor at Farabi Music School Jakarta.
UBIET Was born in Jakarta in 1965, and was raised in Aceh. Ubiet moved to Jakarta and attended The Jakarta Institute of the Arts (IKJ) to major in music-voice. She has earned a Master of Arts degree in ethnomusicology from University of Wisconsin, Madison USA in 1993 and then lecturing in ethnomusicology at IKJ. Currently she is pursuing a research in the vocal music of Kerinci, Jambi-Sumatra for her doctoral degree in ethnomusicology at UW-Madison USA. Despite her academic commitments, Ubiet maintains collaborative relationship with several composers, and traditional musicians, and continues perform locally and internationally with Tony Prabowo and The New Jakarta Ensemble which have released a CD entitled “Commonality” (1999, Siam Record NY). She has also released another Solo Album CD entitled “Archipelagongs” (2000, Warner Music Indonesia) and just launched Kroncong Tenggara (2007, Ragadi Music).
